Alex Lamb

Alex is a Vice President at Trucost Plc. His prior work includes marketing and business development at KLD Research & Analytics. In 2008 -2009, Alex managed KLD's role as lead partner in Newsweek’s Inaugural Green Ranking of US companies. Prior to this, Alex was a Corporate Sustainability Analyst at KLD responsible for researching a portfolio of mid/large cap consumer cyclical companies including Nike and The Gap. Alex has also consulted with leading companies such as Clif Bar and Timberland on projects that integrate sustainability into international sourcing and operations. Alex helps coordinate the Boston Area Sustainable Investment Consortium (BASIC), which he co-founded along with Jed Sturman in 2009. Alex holds a MBA from Bainbridge Graduate Institute, and a BA in literature and philosophy from Hampshire College.


Jed Sturman

Currently, Jed Sturman is a Consultant with L.E.K. Consulting and he previously managed and developed environmental indices, including the Global Climate 100 Index and the Global Environment Index, for KLD Research & Analytics, Inc (since acquired by MSCI). In addition, Jed serves as a managing director of TD Athletes Edge, an athletic conditioning company that he helped to co-found in 2007. Jed co-founded BASIC with Alex Lamb in 2009. Jed holds a MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business and a BA from Bucknell University.


Alexander Jovanovic
Alexander Jovanovic has been with Boston Common Asset Management since 2004. He is primarily responsible for servicing clients invested in Boston Common’s internally managed strategies and coordinating Boston Common’s marketing efforts. He received his BA, magna cum laude, from Tufts University with a double major in International Relations and Economics. Prior to joining Boston Common, Alex worked as a Marketing Assistant for the Tufts University Summer Programs Office, where he conducted marketing research and worked on publications. From 2004-2008 he served as vice-president on the executive board of St. Sava Church in Cambridge, MA. Alex is a life-long recreational Serbian folk dancer, most recently performing with the Grachanitsa Folk Dance Ensemble of Boston from 2003-2005.


Marcela Pinilla
Marcela joined Walden Asset Management, a division of Boston Trust & Investment Management Company, in November 2008. She is an ESG Analyst with responsibility for assessing the environmental, social, and governance performance of existing and potential portfolio companies. Marcela also assists the ESG team on shareholder advocacy initiatives undertaken to strengthen corporate responsibility and accountability on a variety of topics including climate change and sustainability reporting. Prior to joining Boston Trust, Marcela worked with a private consultant focusing on energy efficiency and as an intern at the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEPFI), performing research in order to develop a "gap analysis" tool for financial institutions to enable them to manage their risk when adopting sustainable business practices. Marcela earned a B.A. from American University. She also earned M.B.A. and M.S. degrees from Brandeis University.

Molly Betournay
Molly joined EIRIS in December 2009 as a senior research analyst for the EIRIS US team and head of the EIRIS USA office, based in Boston. She focuses on US companies in the Consumer Goods and Services sectors. Prior to joining EIRIS Molly worked as the Lead Sustainability Research Analyst at Pax World Mutual Funds where she evaluated the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance of companies being considered for investment, engaged with companies around ESG issues, and oversaw proxy voting. Molly holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of New Hampshire.

Sonia Kowal
Sonia is the Director of Socially Responsible Investment at Zevin Asset Management where she directs efforts regarding important social and environmental issues, proxy voting policies, and shareholder dialogues as well as managing marketing and ongoing client-relations. Previously,Sonia headed Ethical Investment Research Services' (EIRIS) US office in Boston where she was a Senior Research Analyst. She has also worked for over six years as a Portfolio Manager and Investment Research Analyst at Baillie Gifford in Scotland where she had responsibility for investments in Emerging Markets. Sonia holds a BS from the University of Edinburgh in Zoology and an MS from the University of Stirling, Scotland in Investment Analysis.
